How to Cut and Install an Activated Carbon + Zeolite Filter

What to do when your cut-to-fit sheet arrives—from identifying the materials to saving the unused portion for future replacements.

Before you begin

The sheet contains activated carbon and natural clinoptilolite zeolite.

These complementary adsorbent materials are designed for odor control when litter-box air passes through the filter. Cut only the size your filter compartment requires and keep the remaining sheet sealed, clean and dry.

Step by step

From full sheet to installed filter

1. Inspect

Remove the sheet from its packaging. Lay it flat on a clean, dry surface and confirm that it is undamaged.

2. Measure

Remove the existing filter and use it as a template. If no old filter is available, measure the usable filter compartment.

3. Trace

Trace the existing filter or mark the measured dimensions with a light-colored marker or pencil.

4. Cut

Use clean household scissors and follow the marked line. Cut one replacement piece at a time.

5. Install

Place the cut piece flat where air is designed to pass through it. Do not cover locking tabs, fans, moving parts or unrelated openings.

6. Store

Place the remaining sheet in a sealed bag and store it in a clean, dry location for future replacements.

Fit matters

Trace the filter—not the outer cover.

A litter box may have a circular cover while the actual filter compartment is rectangular. Copy the shape and dimensions of the existing filter or measure the usable recess. The replacement should lie flat without interfering with the cover or airflow path.

Coming after documentation

CelestePaws will add a recorded demonstration showing the original sheet, measurement, cut edge, work surface after cutting and installation in the filter compartment.

Why the video matters

The demonstration will show the actual customer process and document visible handling observations without making an unsupported zero-shedding claim.

Important boundaries

Cut-to-fit does not mean fit-everywhere without checking.

Filter compartments differ in size, shape, fastening and airflow design. Confirm compatibility before cutting. Performance depends on media quantity, airflow, humidity, contact time, sealing and replacement timing. Continue normal scooping, litter care and room ventilation.
